Play Baseball5 in syddjurs - syddjurs baseball club

In a near future, Ebeltoft will be the center of a new Baseball Club in Denmark: The Syddjurs Mavericks. This new club will start its focus on developing Baseball5 - the new street-version of baseball - in Syddjurs in 2025!

What is baseball5?

Baseball5 is a new street-version of baseball that has the following strengths that we find beneficial for new clubs:

• Baseball5 requires no special equipment - only a ball.

• Baseball5 requires no specialized skills that takes years to develop. The sport requires only the ability to throw and catch a ball, while being athletic. This makes it much easier to build the team as you are not relying on a pitcher and catcher.

• Baseball5 only requires 5 players for a team. This means that a practice of 10 people will make it possible to play games.

On top of those more practical strengths, Baseball5 is extremely fun, very fast paced and a great exercise!

Why not start with baseball?

From experience of trying to build a Baseball/Softball klub in Randers some years ago, we experienced great difficulty finding an area that we could use for practice and games. Baseball5 requires only a 21m x 21m area and can be played on any surface. We believe that it is a great benefit that the space requirements aren’t as big as in Baseball and softball - but we also see a huge advantage in being able to play the sport frankly anywhere in and around Ebeltoft and the rest of Syddjurs.

What is the next step?

The next step is to find the people that wants to be engaged in the club, be it players, volunteers, parents of players, future board members, sponsors, collaborators etc. etc.
